UEA Christmas Lectures for Children 2012

(Tickets available here)
I'm very excited to be giving one of the University of East Anglia Christmas Lectures for Children this year.

They're taking place on Saturday December 15th from 10am-12pm. Tickets are free, but you do have to book in advance. More information is available from the UEA website, here.

My lecture is titled "Your money of your life!", and I'll be talking about highwaymen and riverboat gamblers - two subjects close to my heart. It'll certainly be an interesting challenge to interpret a lot of my research and writing of the last few years to an audience of 8 to 14 year olds!

Here's the full blurb (for both lectures) and a full-sized poster:

Update: a press release about the event is available here.

Update #2: Well, we had a lot of fun, and the lectures made the papers - clippings below. Many thanks to everyone who came out, and to everyone who helped make it happen.
